Trojan Horse summer school 2020 took place on Bengtsår island and online on August 10–16. Five participants and three organizers were camping on the island in southern Finland and six participants and three mentors took part remotely from their homes and studios. During the week we shared time, stories, meals and music.

It also reveals the emotional road from creative concept to cultural movement. The Netflix film features rehearsal and live footage of the performance.

This awarded documentary paints an intimate portrait of the mid- to late 80s ball culture in Harlem and the primarily latino, black, gay and trans community that maintains it. Often considered as the "golden age" of ball culture, within the documentary it comes apparent that the competition is not only for the ball, but also for survival.

Therapy featuring Kim Kuusi is an interactive installation and guided participatory performative art work which positions the methodologies employed in pseudo-holistic audio therapeutic practice within the context of the Finnish welfare state’s call waiting service.

Sjöström and Lambo will have the honour to present groundbreaking facts on historiography: Discovered in the initial Archive of the Founding Members of Dust and Seeds - including the first Prototype of D.E.X.Y : The Rape-Prevention Chip, which kick-started the Age of Non-Violence. Varia Sjöström, descendent of the first Feminist Guerilla Generation – we are happy to have them back! They have been researching on uncontrolled uploads of Tic Symptoms. They will share some new insights with us.”

Muqata’a is locally known as the “godfather” of the underground hip-hop scene in Ramallah, a city in the West Bank, Palestine, and has been heralded for influencing a new generation of Palestinian musicians.

Museum of Impossible Forms in collaboration with Academy of Moving People and Images and Aalto University/Critical Cinema Lab, warmly welcomes filmmaker Heiny Srour, one of the important female filmmakers in the Third Cinema movement of the 70s, to screen and discuss her seminal film  ‘The Hour of Liberation Has Arrived’ – the first film by an Arab female filmmaker from the Third World to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival. 

Museum of Impossible Forms in collaboration with Academy of Moving People and Images and Aalto University/ Critical Cinema Lab, warmly welcomes filmmaker Heiny Srour to Helsinki. Heiny Srour(1945) is one of the important female filmmakers in the Third Cinema movement of the 70s.

Heiny Srour will conduct a Masterclass, titled ‘SHOOTING UNDER DANGER. SHOOTING IN THE SITUATION OF A PIONEER’ and a screening of her film ‘Leila and the Wolves’.

In her lecture Barbara Steiner will talk about the frames and conditions of artistic and curatorial production. This not only implies to deal with interdependencies and intricacies but also to find formats and forms, which show this in the project/exhibition. For her, curating exhibitions is more than just presenting objects; it comprises the presentation of constraints, conditions and spheres of interests – be they of political or economical nature. This approach aims at talking about the framework of artistic and curatorial work already in the programme of an institution and in the exhibition itself

Museum of Impossible Forms continues its series of Creative Writing Workshop in collaboration with author Hassan Blasim. 

Unlike in the previous series, this workshop is limited to one lecturer, Inaam Kachachi, and one participant, Aya Chalabee, who have been working in correspondence since February. Inaam and Aya will meet each other for the first time and talk about writing, freedom, language, women, exile and homeland.
