Society of Cinema x Kenno Filmi presents a Scriptwriting Workshop w/ Brenda Robles

The Conversational Anti-Hero

The revised program for Museum of Impossible Forms’ Society of Cinema’s accommodates the current online working condition while focusing on audience participation and bidirectional exchanges. We are re-inaugurating our program for 2020 with Kenno Filmi, to present a scriptwriting seminar with Brenda Robles: The Conversational Anti-Hero.

The anti-hero with a strong psychological motivation is a trigger for dialogue-driven scenes for low budget stories. Brenda Roble’s will be leading a week-long seminar conducted via zoom starting on Wednesday 20.05.2020. The seminar will include 2 online presentations, short one-to-one feedback sessions with each participant and a closing session.

The seminar is free of charge, will be conducted in English and is open for all levels of screenwriting expertise, amateurs, students and advanced. Anyone who is curious in getting started in screenwriting or refine their writing skills, mainly in the character construction area, is warmly encouraged to apply.

Brenda Robles is a doctoral student at the Helsinki Film School (ELO) at Aalto University in the screenwriting research area.  Her research interests are character creation and its juxtaposition to classic and contemporary dramatic theory. She pursues a practice-based artistic research, based on her experience gained as a visiting researcher at the Department of Film, Television, and Scenography at Aalto University and a Master of Arts in Screenwriting at Napier Edinburgh University.

Kenno Filmi is a co-operative production house in Helsinki, proposing reconfigurations of film and media art production practices through creative exchanges.

Museum of Impossible Forms is a cultural space, located in Kontula, Helsinki. It represents a contact zone, a space for unlearning, norm-critical consciousness and critical thinking. Impossible Forms are those that erase and facilitate the process of transgressing the boundaries/borders between art, politics, practice, theory, the artist and the spectator.
