Radikaalit Ristipistot työpajat joka toinen keskiviikko klo 17-19.00.
Radikaalit ristipistot on osa craftivismi- eli käsityöaktivismiliikettä. Ryhmä toimii ompeluseurahenkisesti rennon yhdessäolon merkeissä. Samalla halutaan näyttää että feministinen aktivismi voi ottaa monia muotoja ja ne muodot voivat olla myös pehmeitä. Radikaalius tulee halusta nostaa käsityötä taidemuotona, esitellä sen monipuolisuutta ja korostaa sen mahdollisuutta olla poliittista ja kantaaottavaa.
Työpajat ovat maksuttomia ja sopivat kaikille ja kaiken tasoisille. Olit sitten täysin aloittelija, tai jo kokenut pistelijä, paikalta saa opastusta omien tarpeidensa mukaan. Paikalta löytyy valmiina valikoima materiaaleja. Myös omia materiaaleja voi tuoda.
Työskentelyn aloitusta helpottaa, jos on miettinyt valmiiksi sopivia tekstejä tai kuvioita. Työpajassa on myös esillä valmiita malleja, joista valita, sekä aihepiiriin liittyviä oppaita ja kirjallisuutta.

Esteettömyystiedot: Tilaan on esteetön kulku, kynnykset max. 4 cm. Tilassa ei ole esteettömyysvaatimukset täyttävää vessaa. Vessa on kynnyksetön, mutta ahdas. Lähin esteetön vessa sijaitsee viereisellä Kontulan metroasemalla.
Radical Cross-stitch workshops
Radical Cross-stitch workshops at Museum of Impossible Forms every other Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm.
Radical cross-stitch is part of the craftivist movement, showing that feminist activism can take many forms, including craft. The workshops want to bring forth cross-stitch as an art form, show its versatility, as well as its ability to be political and radical. The gatherings follow the form of feminist sewing circles, being also a place for relaxed socializing and discussion.
The workshops are free of charge and open for all.
It does not matter if you have no previous experience, or have already done a lot, guidance is available depending on one’s own needs. There will be a selection of materials provided, you can also bring your own.
It will help you to get started if you have already thought about the text or image you would want to do. Or you can select from the samples already provided. There will also be books and other guides available.

Museum of Impossible Forms is a cultural space, located in Kontula, Helsinki. It is a contested Space and it represents a contact zone, a space of unlearning, formulating identity constructs, norm-critical consciousness and critical thinking. Impossible Forms are those that erase and facilitate the process of transgressing the boundaries/borders between art, politics, practice, theory, the artist and the spectator. For 2019-2020, Museum of Impossible Forms operates under the curatorial theme of ‘The Atlas of Lost Beliefs (For Insurgents, Citizens and Untitled Bodies)’.

Museum of Impossible Forms is accessible by lift with thresholds up to 4cm on the way. The toilet has no thresholds but is not spacious enough to meet accessibility standards. The nearest accessible toilet is located at Kontula metro station.
