In Practice: FAR Night School x FemF x m{if}: On community care

In this FAR night school session, organised in collaboration with Museum of Impossible Forms and FemF, we continue our discussions around distribution of labour in activist circles. We will work with a concrete example, the organisation of FemF (Feminist Forum) this year. The aim is to evolve a model for collaborative volunteer work that takes into consideration people's varying abilities to participate, distributes responsibilities in a fair manner, and maintains a culture of collective community care.

Radikaalit Ristipistot työpajat / Radical Cross-stitch workshops

Radical cross-stitch is part of the craftivist movement, showing that feminist activism can take many forms, including craft. The workshops want to bring forth cross-stitch as an art form, show its versatility, as well as its ability to be political and radical. The gatherings follow the form of feminist sewing circles, being also a place for relaxed socializing and discussion.

Open Stage [larp]

Open Stage is a larp about queer voices, identities and communities. The game follows the lives of participants of a small queer spoken word workshop and their friends for a few days.

Society of Cinema: NOTNOW series of short films

Museum of Impossible Forms is delighted to present a set of 13 short films, curated by Danai Anagnostou.

This trans-national set of films offer a critical cross-section of experimental cinematic practices today. Offering a meandering choreography of subjects, the films focus on bodies that orbit several paths of intimacy, yearning and inspiration.

By shifting away from the dominant perspectives of commercial filmmakers and festival selections, Danai offers to redirect our gaze to the presence of otherwise Untitled Bodies – another map in ‘The Atlas of Lost Beliefs’.

Creative Writing Workshop: Inaam Kachachi in Conversation with Aya Chalabee

Museum of Impossible Forms continues its series of Creative Writing Workshop in collaboration with author Hassan Blasim.

Unlike in the previous series, this workshop is limited to one lecturer, Inaam Kachachi, and one participant, Aya Chalabee, who have been working in correspondence since February. Inaam and Aya will meet each other for the first time and talk about writing, freedom, language, women, exile and homeland.

M{if} Discourse Series: Muqata'a Concert Performance
