Silvana Bahia on Communication and Technology

ARMA Alliance and the Museum of Impossible Forms (MIF) organise a two-day Workshop on Communication and Technology with Silvana Bahia (Afro-Brazilian journalist, filmmaker, writer, activist and director at Olabi/Pretalab). Bahia is currently participating in a a residency at Kone Lauttasaari Manor.
Within the workshop, Bahia and participants will discuss the challenges and opportunities facing black women and women of colour in Finland’s and Brazil’s sectors of media production and technology development/innovation. Bahia will share her personal trajectory and experiences as a Black woman doing research, making films and promoting diversity in the Tech Development & Innovation sector in Brazil. Participants are expected to reflect and develop ideas from their own personal trajectories, collective engagements and life experiences in Finland.
The hands-on activities will be coordinated by Monica Gathuo and the translation from Portuguese to English (vice versa) will be done by Léo Custódio.
