Exhibition opening: Habitat vol. 1 by Ksenia Yurkova

Opening of the exhibition Habitat vol. 1 by Ksenia Yurkova at the MIF at 7pm

Through photographers, videos and produced newspapers Ksenia Yurkova documents the communication of students/residents of the student campus HOAS in Vantaa. In her project the artist studies the status of a guest and raises questions about vulnerable boundaries between notions of public and private, and conditions where hospitality turns into hostility. The idea behind the project is to stimulate communication and dialogue between the people who come to the transitional field (in case of the university) using objects that for a short time become a work of art.

The exhibition will be open during public events at MIF through September and October, 2018

The event is a part of the "The Russian Bar: Why Relocate? New approach to neighbourliness and interchange"
