Faith Adiele’s 35-minute section, written and narrated by her, recreates her parents’ interracial love affair, set against the backdrop of the American Civil Rights and African Independence movements; recounts her own experiences growing up Nigerian / Nordic / American; and records a trip to Nigeria to visit the father and siblings she’s met only once before.
A great discussion starter for issues of blended families, single parenthood, race, identity, multiculturalism, Civil Rights, the Sixties, post-colonial Africa, travel and home
