For centuries magazines and magazine making have functioned as provocative political and artistic tool for countercultural and anti-authoritarian movements. Essential in the communication of the Riot Grrrl movement of the 1990s, zines continue to play a crucial role in communications between activists and artists today. 

M{if} and Ruskeat Tytöt together with FemF ART invites you to a zine workshop and talk by artist Renuka Rajiv aka Pith Bull on Sunday, October 22.

Renuka Rajiv aka Pith Bull is an artist based in Bangalore. Their work embodies a conceptual rigour and an inventive aesthetic provocation that critically comments and chronicles on matters of sexuality, physicality, notions of family and relationships reminiscent of the 70’s and 80’s punk scene. They are the recipient of The Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art Emerging Artist Award 2016. 
Pith Bull will spend two weeks at The Museum of Impossible Forms where they will share some insight into their praxis. This will manifest as a workshop and a zine intervention produced at M{if}.

Zine Making Get-together/ Workshop
Museum of Impossible Forms would like to invite you to a zine-making afternoon this Sunday, October 22 from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM The program will start with short presentation by Renuka, current Mif artist-in-residence, on their zine-making practice across the last 7 years. They will describe their techniques, process and relationship with narrative.

The rest of the day will be dedicated to hands-on production! Participants are welcome to work individually or collaborate with others present. It would be great if you could bring an idea/ theme that you would like to explore in the zine form, along with visual material relating to that.
