Elvin Brandhi: Disembodied Auras
Museum of Impossible Forms will host sound artist Elvin Brandhi, who will perform a live collage of sounds drawn from every corner of her haphazard roaming, presenting a polymorphic body of sounds all derived from her most recent dwellings, Istanbul-Kosovo-Uganda-Russia to Finland.
Using tape, field recordings and live vocals she hybridises narratives and environments into rhythmically sculpted soundscapes, mixed with internet glitch aesthetics to convey the contemporary experience of mediated multitudes, the over lapping layers of reality and virtuality. This will be accompanied by visuals and live interaction with distant collaborators
Elvin Brandhi is an improvising lyricist, producer and sound artist from Bridgend Wales, making auto-tune blast beats from field recordings, tapes, instruments and voice. Live shows are unyielding bursts of erupting animation where her caustic stream of consciousness cavorts with restless, glitched out heaviness. Other main projects include Yeah You, INSIN in collaboration with Bashar Suileman.
